2009 Holiday Home Tour!

Well I know I'm a glutten for punishment, or so my hubby tells me!   But with all I'm doing, I've added a Holiday Home Tour to the list.  I've done this for four years now, so why should I stop now?  This year the tour I'm in is being put on by The French Flea, and I love being invited to be a part of it and able to share my home with you.  It will only be held one day, Saturday, December 12 from 1-4 pm and the cost is $10.  This includes five homes, and I think that's a lot of bang for your buck!  To sign up contact Teri at threefrenchhens@yahoo.com or visit the store, The French Flea, during one of their sales and sign up then (click on the link for dates and times).  I'd love to have you join us!

For pictures of my home from last year's tour, you can go to Holiday Home Tour 2008 - Part 1, Holiday Home Tour 2008 - Part 2, and Holiday Home Tour 2008 - 3rd and Final

Hey, Hey, Hey . . . It's a Holiday Hay Rack!

I found this awesome hay rack at the Buffalo Nickel, an antique store where I have a booth. Guess Ol' Bessie was all done with it! I knew from the start it would look amazing with Christmas greens on my front porch. I love how it turned out! How about you?  Let me know as I love ready all your comments!

This piece had so much potential. Just needed some TLC and a little embellishing!

This is a great vintage swiss army basket, and though it doesn't fit perfectly, I loved the look of it inside the hay rack.

All this arrangement needed was some embellishments . . .

. . . some greens and some bright red berries. I have to fess up, these berries are plastic. My bad!

This dove looks mighty fine in it, too!

Okay, I have a little secret. I don't think embellishing with ribbon is my forte'. But I kind of like how this turned out. I love the architectural piece. Something I picked up at Ms. Sue's garage sale!

Here's another look at this piece's great rusty patina!

So here's the final piece in all it's glory! LOL! I think it's way too nice to used for hay! Sorry, Bessie!

The Pictures are In!

As promised, here are pictures from the Destination Art booth at the Midwest Home Show.  Sue's booth was absolutely amazing!  I don't know if these pictures even do it justice.  The best booth is suppose to be in Midwest Home Magazine, and if I could vote, Sue would definitely win!  This is one talented chick.  So without further a do, here ya go!

Here is her total booth.  She really has an amazing way of putting everything together.

This bike was so unique . . . it was sprayed it white and added snow flakes to it.  Cute, cute, cute!

These pillows were also stenciled with local landmarks.

And then there were t-shirts.

Some of my additions to the booth.

"U" rock.  Ha ha!  Clever!

Another of my pieces, a vintage bottle rack.  Works perfect for a wine rack!

Sue's amazing signs!

Be sure to check out Destination Art's blog at www.destinationartmn.blogspot.com.  Hope you enjoyed the pictures.  Thanks also to Mim Gustafson and Lori Miller of the Round Barn Potting Co. for providing some of the items in the booth.  Have a great weekend!

Destination Art to be at the Midwest Home Show in Minneapolis!

Ok, so I have this friend, Sue Wolfe, who is extremely creative (I'm so jealous!).  And I have had the privilige of working with her for almost eight years.  She is one of the most talented people I know (her and my other friend Sue W!).  And, well, I have to say I am proud to be helping her at this weekend's Midwest Home Show in Minneapolis.  She's actually the creative genius, I'm just the help.  Well maybe I have a few items I've added to her booth.  But it's her masterpieces that are showcased!

She's the creator of Destination Art, artwork done on canvas highlighting local landmarks in Minneapolis.  Check out her blog (there's a link on the right of my blog) to see some of them.  They're are amazing!  She's been doing them for a few years and they are an absolute hit!  She also sells them at the Round Barn Potting Co. and has sold them at the Junk Bonanza.  She's also been featured in the Minneapolis Star and Tribune.  She is one amazingly talented woman.

So if you happen to be in the area, I encourage you to stop by.  The show starts tomorrow at 12:00 pm and runs through Sunday.  To get more info, go to  www.midwesthomeshow.com.  I plan on taking pictures tomorrow and hope to post them on Saturday!

Another Week, Another Sale at the French Flea!

Well, It's been a bit crazy lately, working on two different occasional sales.  Apologies to all those bloggers out there who I haven't been able to read your blogs.  My bad!  I'm hoping to catch up next week :)  But this week is another sale at the French Flea!    Actually this is the typical sale week for the Flea, but due to the holiday's it will be open three weeks this month.  Wowzer!  We're just hopping over there!  Trying to keep things new and fresh.  And after a booming sale last week, we've had to restock and redo the whole shop.  It's looking great and definitely looking a lot like Christmas.  I feel a song coming on!  LOL!  So sit back, relax, listen to the music and enjoy the pictures.  WARNING!  I went camera happy!  Here's hoping it gets you feeling a little like the season is almost upon us!

Stay tuned tomorrow for more info on what and where else I'll be this weekend!  Also, for more info, dates and times on the French Flea, visit their website at www.frenchfleamarketofanoka.com (it opens November 12 at 10:00.  Be there early as there will be a line!  If you stop by and I'm there, be sure to say hi!
