Easter Decorations

Today was Easter and we had my family over. For the holiday I decided to add some bright green to my decor. I love it! It really popped against my virtually neutral decor. Not too much green, just enough. That's what I love about a neutral palette. I can change the colors when ever I want with accessories! Here are a few picture to give you a little idea of how it looked.

Fresh Fallen Snow

Today is an absolutely gorgeous day! It snowed and the trees are all snow covered. I've got a few pieces of garden art, and the snow looks beautiful on them. Hard to believe tomorrow is Easter. No easter egg hunt this year! LOL.

It feels appropriate actually. As the snow covers the ground, it reminds me how Jesus blood covered our sin and makes us white as snow. This is the day that the Lord has made! Rejoice and be glad in it! Happy Easter.

A Sample of My Work

I thought to begin this blog I would start by sharing some of my own home decorating work. In December I opened my house to a Holiday Home Tour through a place I work and consign. This was the third year doing it. There must of been almost 200 people come through. Whew! When I did it last year, I had only been in my new home for about six weeks. I know, I know. I must be nuts (ask my husband), but it certainly pushed me into getting things done for Christmas.

Here are some pictures at Christmas. Hope they are somewhat inspiring to you!

Welcome to My Blog

This is my first attempt at a blog. Okay, okay, I know. I'm not much of a writer . . . in fact I'm not a writer at all (must be my ADD). But I want to share my passion for decorating, mixing the old with the new. My love for creating . . . creating pieces with old, discarded finds . . . my favorite things being rusty, chippy, architectual, advertising and european pieces. So I hope this doesn't end up being just ramplings of a mad housewife, but that it becomes an avenue to inspire others and encourages them to love old things, too.
