My Oronoco Junking Finds!

I just returned from a junking weekend in Oronoco, MN for Gold Rush Days.  It's a great flea market that is held once a year on the third weekend of the month of August.  It's a "town event", literally!  They set up the whole town with booths filled with vintage items.  I've been going for twenty years, but I couldn't tell you how long they have been doing it.  Seems like forever.  It's definitely worth the trip and if you can go next year, go! 

This year, Amy of Junkologie and Whisperwood Cottage held another Blog Party, her second annual one, along with the Pfarkel Sisters.  We met lots of fellow JMS members, and even was visited by a History Channel crew working on a pilot for a new show.  How exciting was that?  Look for pictures on that later. 

But for now, I want to show you some of my great finds.  And I had a truckload full!  It seems like almost everything I found was heavy!  Why is that?  Got me, but I love what I found.  Here's a peak!

I'm assuming this piece was used in some type of factory. It is extremely heaving. It needs a little TLC, but I love it's industrial feel.

This sign gets to stay with me. It'll be going on my back door, just in case we forget how to get out. Ha!

I love drawers, and when I found this piece I just couldn't resist. I'm going to clean it up, and probably put a spray poly over it. It's another heaving piece. I think it would be great in a craft room.

A great stool I purchased at a great price. And it's a lot heavier than you think. Do I have a theme going here?

I picked up this old seltzer bottle with the multi-drawer cabinet. He gave me a deal since I purchased the two pieces. I love that!

This piece is also staying with me. It's a home made industrial fan, and it, too, ways a ton! Okay I guess I do have a theme going. I purchased it from a vendor who also does Round Top, TX, He has amazing stuff. Thanks, Clark!

These drawers were a steal! All they need is a little cleaning up. I told you I love drawers!

This is a double sided sign. And the patina is perfect if you ask me!

I suspect this metal suitcase was originally painted. I love, did I say LOVE, that it's now just a bare metal finish!

I thought this may be fun in a kitchen...Egg-leston.  My son loves "eggs".  Okay, maybe not right now (they may not be too safe to eat). 

I love (am I saying love too much?) these ice cream cups! I bought them from fellow JMS member Mary, or better known as "54girl". Thanks, Mary!

These were used in grain elevators. I bought as many as they had. I have big plans for these....

This drink carrier is another piece purchased from Mary.

This is an old stove base, with the top made from a rusty table top.  I think it would make a great coffee table.

And I saved the best for last. This poultry bin (so I was told) is going to be a project of mine. You'll have to wait and see what I do with it :-)
