Shopping Oronoco and Blogger Party - Part 2

Okay, now were was I????? Oh, ya, shopping! And shopping we did. We shopped 'til we dropped and found some great things! And there seemed to be something for everyone in Oronoco. The prices were all over the board, but you could find some great deals!

Finally after grilling steaks (thanks to the use of the Pfarkel Sisters' grill) we were off to bed. And with six in a tent, we were wall to wall. But thanks to air mattresses, I had a great night sleep! My first night in a tent after 30 years or so, went off without a hitch! I guess I can mark that off my things to do list. But maybe next year we can rent a camper????

Last day at Oronoco we got a fairly early start and were at the Flea Market by 8:00-ish or so for the Fire Station breakfast. Scrambled eggs, pancakes and sausage were on the menu. Mmmmm good! And with a good breakfast, we had energy to start another day of shopping! This day we found some amazing things.

Chowing down to an awesome breakfast!

Here are some of the great booths we saw.

This is Billy Joe of Missouri. Loved his booth! He had amazing things. Many with an industrial feel. He is a true repurposer!!

The hanging lamps were amazing! I would love to have had them in my house!

This sofa table was made from car ramps. How cool is that!

Another phenomenal booth. The bark cloth assortment was unbelievable.

These grain bags were amazing! From Europe, they ran between $85 to $235.

This was my favorite, a piece from Germany. Of course it was the most expensive at $235.

And after a day of shopping (in the heat) it was time for the Blog Party. Love Amy of Whisperwood Cottage and this was her first Blog Party (and first time at Oronoco). She did an amazing job, and her both was by far my favorite (and I'm not even a little prejudice in saying this). She just has a way with "junk" and had so many fun things. Here are some pics from the party!

These are the Kountry Junkers of Eau Claire. What a fun group of girls. They will be at the Junk Bonanza in September. Can't wait to get together with them again!

Sue getting all prettied up for her book signing. Looking good!

Cheryl of Tom Boy Tools doing a demo with Amy's huband Ron's dad (did you follow me on that-ha!). Don't he look pretty in pink?

Look's like Amy's Angels!

Love this gas pump door. Was great for a photo opp!

Here are a few things I picked up over the weekend . . .

Love this piece from an old elevator. Keep posted to see what I do with it!

What floor would you like?

These are the tins I purchased from Billy Joe. Great details!

Can I take your order?? This came from a restaurant and was used to place the order tickets on it. Too cool!

Great graphics on this piece. It's in mint condition.

These are gifts from Candy and Kathy. What awesome friends!

Hope Amy has a Blogger Party next year! Be sure to be checking out the following blogs for their take on the weekend! Amy at Whisperwood Cottage and Junkologie, Gretchen at Mimitorias, Kathy at Sylvia's Daughter, and Candy at Junk Sophisticate. Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you, thank you for such a great post. I've been dying to see more from Oronoco and you delivered! My heart has been racing since I saw that elevator thingy. OH MY GOSH! I know instantly what I'd do with it, anxious to see your take on it. And that round order spinner is just screaming light fixture! Awesome stuff! I so wanted to make it there but couldn't pull it off, but nothing is gonna stop me from the Bonanza in September. Hope to meet you then.

Another awesome post, Lani! It takes me back. lol. Loved seeing your elevator parts again. As a matter of fact that was one of the first things I told hubs about and he agreed your idea would be so cool.

Can't wait to see what you do with everything!

Thank you for all the photos. I have been dying to see what all was to be had. We would have loved to been able to come up...even talked about it, but a little something like a baby getting to come home from the hospital prevented it!
That elevator piece is the best thing I've seen posted. I'm sure your plans for it will be fantastic, but it is so cool...it could stand alone!
Amy is a delight and one of my favorite people ever! Not only is she a great junker, but she is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to photography. She can even manage to make me look good.
Thanks again for sharing and making me feel like I was there!
Debbie
P.S. Hats off to you for "roughing" it. I don't know if I could sleep in a tent even for the thrill of the junk! Well, maybe for breakfast.

Great post, can you imagine $235 for a grain bag. The bag originally probably sold for about $3.00 filled with grain. Does anyone really pay those kind of prices for an old bag? Sandi

I'm glad you were actually able to sleep in the tent. I have huge problems sleeping somewhere I haven't been to before.
